چکیده
This paper proposes a gray-scale inverse Hough transform (GIHT) algorithm which is combined with a modified gray-scale Hough transform (GHT). Given only the data of the Hough transform (HT) space and the dimensions of the image, the GIHT algorithm reconstructs correctly the original gray-scale image. As a first application, the GIHT is used for line detection and filtering according to conditions associated with the polar parameters, the size and the gray-scale values of the lines. The main advantage of the GIHT is the determination of the image lines exactly as they appear, i.e. pixel by pixel and with the correct gray-scale values. To avoid the quantization effects in the accumulator array of the GHT space, inversion conditions are defined which are associated only with the image size. The GIHT algorithm consists of two phases, which are the collection of gray-scale information stored in the accumulator array and the extraction of the final image according to the filtering conditions. Experimental results confirm the efficiency of the proposed method. q 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Segmentation of MR images with intensity inhomogeneities
A statistical model to segment clinical magnetic resonance (MR) images in the presence of noise and intensity inhomogeneities is proposed. Inhomogeneities are considered to be multiplicative low-frequency variations of intensities that are due to the anomalies of the magnetic fields of the scanners. The measurements are modeled as a Gaussian mixture where inhomogeneities present a bias field in...

We introduce a new class of dithering methods called N-candidate methods. The main idea is that the output color is randomly chosen among several candidate colors so that the estimated color average would be preserved. The dithering process is pixelwise without any interaction with the neighboring pixels. The N-candidate methods are thus location invariant, which has two benefits: (1) the algor...

This paper provides a review on techniques for computing a three-dimensional model of a scene from a single moving camera, with unconstrained motion and unknown parameters. In the classical approach, called autocalibration or self-calibration, camera motion and parameters are recovered first, using rigidity; then structure is easily computed. Recently, new methods based on the idea of stratific...
